Ian MacFarlane (b. 1999) is an emerging American artist currently living and working in Portland Maine.

He earned his BA from Roger Williams University in 2022 with a minor in architecture, and recently received his MFA from Maine College of Art and Design in 2024. MacFarlane works across a variety of different mediums, focusing primarily on ceramic sculpture and drawing. MacFarlane curiously creates casts of characters as a means of exploring an internal world of whimsy and wonder.

MacFarlane has exhibited his work around Maine at locations such as the Institute of Contemporary Art at Maine College of Art and Design, Barkan Gallery at Watershed Center for the Ceramic Arts, and 82Parris Gallery.
